the badge, and how it comes off.
04 / what paid changesa small “published with htmlshare” badge is added at serve time. it is one element: no script execution, no network requests, no tracking of your visitor, and dismissable. your stored html is never modified — the bytes in r2 are yours, byte for byte.
paid pages serve unmodified. nothing is injected into the response at all — the visitor receives exactly the document you published.

pricing questions.
is the api free?
yes. rest, the mcp server and the a2a endpoint are available on every plan, including free, and anonymous publishing needs no account at all. paid plans buy capabilities, not access.
what happens to my pages if i never pay?
nothing. a free account keeps owned pages permanently, with custom slugs and view counts. anything already shipped to free stays free.
why is there both a one-time and a monthly plan?
pro lifetime is a permanent feature entitlement with a generous usage allowance — not unlimited infrastructure forever. pro monthly exists for publishers whose volume needs more capacity than that allowance covers.
i bought lifetime and later subscribe. what happens if i cancel?
you return to pro lifetime, never to free. the lifetime entitlement is permanent and the subscription sits on top of it.
why does the lifetime price go up?
it rises with the number sold — the earlier you buy, the less you pay. whatever you pay is fixed permanently: the ladder moves for the next buyer, never for you. there is no deadline and no countdown, only a count.
some pro features say "coming". am i paying for those?
yes, and they are part of what a paid plan entitles you to — light db is promised and not yet built. we would rather say so on the page you buy from than list it as if it worked today. custom domains, version history and advanced analytics said "coming" here until 2026-09-23 and now work.
how long do anonymous pages last?
a page published without an account is public for 24 hours, then recoverable by its creator for a further 7 days before it is permanently deleted. claiming it with a free account makes it permanent.
does htmlshare change my html?
the stored bytes are never modified. on free, a small attribution badge is added at serve time — no script, no network requests, no tracking, dismissable. paid pages serve unmodified.
